Remember The Red Ribbon? (Discursive Essay)

JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN’T SEE IT DOESN’T MEAN IT’S NOT THERE!
(Don’t Turn Your Back on AIDS)

Over 34 millions of people suffer from HIV/AIDS; it is an issue that has sparked fear in everyone.  AIDS is one of the deadliest and most contagious diseases in the worldwide universe. AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. AIDS is a disease of the human immune system that caused by HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). We all know that AIDS is deadly dangerous, but not all of us know what AIDS do to our body. As I mentioned earlier that AIDS causes by HIV, so what HIV does to our body is that it gradually weakens the body’s immune system, due to a “lack of white blood cells” which means our body can no longer defend itself from any disease or viruses.

AIDS and HIV is not the same thing although people think they are. HIV attacks your body and destroys your white blood cells (lymphocytes). But AIDS is only when you have a full outbreak of HIV. There are positive and negative HIV’s, the positive HIV means that the presence of the virus has been detected within the body. A person who is HIV positive does not necessarily have AIDS.  AIDS is the result of HIV infection. When HIV enters the blood streams a person may become infected with it.

HIV symptoms are severely prolonged; they include enlarged lymph glands, tiredness, fever, loss of appetite and weight. There are further symptoms such as diarrhea, yeast infections and night sweat.
Having AIDS and or being HIV positive is a frustration and heartrending to all of us, but there are always solutions to avoid that issue!

The Red Ribbon is commonly known for solidarity of people living with HIV/AIDS. This helps and supports the people that are suffering from HIV/AIDS, to just live their life and embrace every second of it. Additionally it is common to hold memorials to honor persons who have died from HIV/AIDS on this day.

Realistically every minute and every year the majority of people die from a severe, fatal AIDS. Today people are much more concerned and aware of HIV/AIDS.  It is absolutely normal to avoid people that are living with HIV/AIDS. But we shouldn’t be disgusted with them, because what if you are facing the same circumstance as they are and you only have 10 weeks to live. We should think humanity and be a leader of that person, make that person’s life enjoyable and meaningful. Along with a joyful heart, so that when he/she passes away, you will be the last person that made his/her life momentous and may peace be upon that person.

In order to prevent having AIDS is that, you need to make sure that your partner is HIV free. Condoms are freely available everywhere. They can prevent the fluids which contain the virus from entering a person’s body through a sexual intercourse. HIV infected mothers should avoid breast feeding their infant and direct-contact with infected blood.

HIV/AIDS medication can be very expensive and difficult to find, especially for people without insurance. There are different side effects of HIV medication, but none of them can cure permanently. So there’s no use of buying them.  There is no real cure for AIDS however there are some cheap treatments to make HIV infected people feel stronger such as Vaccine. HIV and AIDS treatment have not yet been found.
Trust us, it’s there!
